Project Planning Phase

Purpose

The purpose of the Project Planning Phase is to identify information technology requirements stemming from business objectives. An action plan or work breakdown structure (WBS) is then developed to define specific projects to achieve the identified information technology goals. In this phase, the development approach, benefits, and a reasonable estimate of the development costs of the conceptual design are determined.
