The DBI proxy architecture is implemented on top
of a couple of lower-level Perl networking modules such as
PlRPC
and, in the case of
DBI::ProxyServer
,
Net::Daemon
. As such, these modules have a lot of
features that are inherited into the DBI proxy architecture, such as
powerful access-list configuration and on-the-fly compression and
ciphering.
We shall look at each of these topics in more detail and explain how they can be used effectively in your software.
