In this chapter, we’ve gone over a number of points that you should consider as a sound designer. We’ve seen that sound should be considered a potentially public experience, and we’ve covered what that means to the sound we design. We’ve also considered some principles that apply to web and mobile experiences. These boil down to respecting users, thinking about their expectations, and not surprising them but rather building their trust.

Keep these principles in mind as you continue your journey as a sound designer. In the next chapters we’ll get a chance to design sound for both the Web and mobile platforms.
