Visual Database Tools

Visual Basic 5 Enterprise Edition was the first language version that integrated a suite of tools for working with databases from within the IDE. Before that, you had to switch to an external program, such as Access, SQL Server Enterprise Manager, or FoxPro, whenever you needed to create or edit a table, set a relationship between two tables, design a query, and so on. The Visual Database Tools suite has been inherited by Visual Basic 6, and most of its tools are also available in the Professional Edition.
