SQL Azure Reporting

We thought it sensible and useful, before we close this chapter, to cover SQL Azure Reporting (SAR), a cloud-hosted version of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). Just as SQL Azure can be thought of as a limited version SQL Server, SAR can be thought of as a limited version of SSRS. In this section, we’ll cover how to provision a SQL Azure Reporting server, how to create reports for it, and what the limitations are around doing so.

In reality, SAR is more easily presented in terms of its on-premises counterpart than is SQL Azure, because SAR is a true subset of SSRS.
