Summary
Even though VPL is easy to use, it is still a powerful development tool in the MSRS arsenal. Users can drag blocks onto the diagram and link them together with connectors. Blocks can represent basic activities or services.
Every activity is used to process messages. An outgoing message for one activity becomes the input message for another activity. Basic activities include simple constructs such as storage of a data value, a conditional statement, or the calculation of a value.
Services can represent either the built-in services available with MSRS or services the users create themselves.Any DSS service created with MSRS can be used in a VPL program.
