What If You Want to Execute Code on the Robot?

Rather than executing code on a PC, it’s possible to execute MSRS programs directly on the robot. Unless you have a robot with an embedded 32-bit processor (such as MobileRobots’s Pioneer 3DX) capable of running the .NET Framework, your robot or device should be able to run Windows CE 5.0 or higher. In this scenario, the development will still be done on a laptop or desktop machine. Once tested, the code can be moved to the CE device, thus not requiring a connection between the development PC and CE device. For more information about developing robotics applications targeting the .NET Compact Framework, refer to http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb483099.aspx.
