Configuring the Arrick Robotics ARobot

Chapter 7 and Chapter 8 involve services that work with an unsupported robot named the ARobot by Arrick Robotics. The base model of this robot does not include Bluetooth connectivity, so you must use the supplied serial cable to connect your computer to the robot.

After you assemble it, you must follow the instructions provided in Chapter 7 to create a new hardware interface for this robot. This involves downloading a control program (available on the book’s companion Web site) to the robot using the serial cable. You also need to build services used to control the ARobot and use them in a test program or in the SecurityMonitor project covered in Chapter 8.
