Configuring the iRobot Create
Because the iRobot is preassembled, the steps required to set up this robot are less than what is required for the Boe-Bot. The Create, which we refer to in Chapter 5, comes with a serial cable. The serial cable is used to send commands from the computer to the robot. If your computer does not have a serial port connection, then you will need to purchase a USB to serial (RS232) adapter.
Tip
It is not necessary to purchase the optional command package to work with MSRS.
