  1. I have found that CAB is necessary but not sufficient for developing applications. Using CAB cost-effectively requires you to use SCSF, as using the Microsoft Foundation Classes cost-effectively required the use of Class Wizard. So porting CAB to WPF was absolutely necessary and wonderful and good, but it's not sufficient for developing industrial applications.

    I therefore decided to convert the SCSF to use WPF and did so with about two weeks' worth of effort. The guidance package containing my port comes with the code download for this book.
