B. Official Solution Architecture: Interoperation

  1. The May 2007 release of the SCSF contained Microsoft's first official attempt at supporting WPF in CAB applications. You can see it most easily by examining the WPF Integration Quickstart sample program that comes with this release, a screen shot of which is shown below. The goals of this WPF support package are:

    1. Providing an easy way to use WPF controls as SmartParts in CAB applications, while interoperating seamlessly with WF controls in the same application.

    2. Providing official guidance about Microsoft's recommended mechanisms for incorporating WPF functionality into CAB applications today.
