Introduction

Microsoft ADO.NET 2.0 includes a number of enhancements—new classes, such as the connection string builders, as well as new properties and methods on previously existing classes. This book will cover the new features in ADO.NET 2.0 as well as the features that existed in the initial release of the technology.

Although this book is the second edition of Microsoft ADO.NET, there are more changes to the text than just the coverage of the new features. For example, Chapter 12 and Chapter 13, which cover Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft ASP.NET applications, respectively, contain updated information about new data binding features and scenarios.
