Common Custom Presence Application Scenario

A common custom presence application scenario is publishing presence information for users based on sources of information and applications other than Office Communicator. Before the release of Office Communications Server 2007 R2, there were two main issues with this scenario. The first issue was that to register an endpoint with the server running Office Communications Server for a user, the application required the user’s domain credentials to validate the registration with Office Communications Server.
