Chapter 18. Drawing Graphics

I’m pretty sure no one considers Excel his first choice for creating computer graphics, but Excel includes a surprisingly full set of drawing tools. And since those drawing tools are fully programmable, you can render graphics from worksheet data in pretty interesting ways. I’ll show you one application of that here by diagramming hierarchical data using Excel shapes and, hopefully, open the doors to your imagination.

This chapter includes task-oriented reference information for the following objects and their related collections: Adjustments, CalloutFormat, ColorFormat, ConnectorFormat, ControlFormat, FillFormat, FreeFormBuilder, GroupShapes, LineFormat, LinkFormat, PictureFormat, ShadowFormat, Shape, ShapeNode, ShapeRange, TextEffectFormat, TextFrame, and ThreeDFormat.
