This chapter presented some advanced concepts, including object hosting and tool pane customizations. Tool pane customization allows the developer to brand a Web Part so that it is distinct. Branding is particularly important for companies that need their product offerings to stand out. In addition to branding, the Web Part architecture allows calling code to manipulate Web Part internals so that custom functionality can be built into an application.
