Name
Randomize
Synopsis
Randomize(number
)
Seeds ColdFusion’s random number generator with the integer
part of number
. This allows the
Rand( )
function to generate numbers with a higher
degree of randomness. Note that the number returned by the
Randomize( )
function isn’t random. The
following example uses the Randomize( )
function
to seed ColdFusion’s random number generator before creating
random numbers with the Rand( )
function:
<CFSET temp = Randomize(Second(Now( )))> Here are 10 random numbers:<P> <CFLOOP INDEX="counter" FROM="1" TO="10"> <CFOUTPUT>#Rand( )#<BR></CFOUTPUT> </CFLOOP>
