PREREQUISITES AND PREPARATION

To complete the managed code application exercise in this chapter, you need to have the following:

  • A Compact 7 OS run-time image, generated from the MyCompact7 OS design created as part of the exercise in Chapter 7, “OS Design,” launched on a target device with the following components:
    • CAB File Installer/Uninstaller
    • .NET Compact Framework 3.5
    • OS Dependencies for .NET Compact Framework 3.5
    • CoreCon_v200_Compact7
    • AutoLaunch_v200_Compact7
  • The Compact 7 OS run-time image configured with the following registry to launch the CoreCon executable during startup:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Startup] “Process0”=”ConmanClient2.exe” “Process0Delay”=dword:00002710
  • Installed MyCompact7_SDK, generated from a MyCompact7 OS design in Chapter 7 to the development station.
  • Both the development station and target device attached to the same Local Area Network, with DHCP service to provide an IP address dynamically. Or configure the development station and target device each with different IP addresses within the same subnet.
