ESTABLISHING CONNECTIVITY FOR CTK

To use the CTK, you need to establish connectivity between the CTK IDE and the target device, using one of the following options:

• CoreCon
• KITL

Whether the connection between the development station and target device connects through KITL or CoreCon, the steps to perform CTK Tests are identical between the two connection methods, after you establish the connection.

Preparing an OS Run-time Image to Support CTK

To support CTK testing, the OS run-time image is not required to include any CTK-related files. After the CTK IDE establishes connectivity to the target device, it downloads the required files and launches the required CTK application on the target device.

All the components to be tested must be included in the OS run-time image and become active after the OS run-time image launches on the target device.

Connecting CTK to the Target Device with KITL

To establish connectivity with the target device using KITL, you need to configure the OS design to generate an OS run-time image with KITL enabled.

Work through the following steps to establish connectivity between the CTK IDE and target device:

1. Configure the MyCompact7 OS design from Chapter 7, “OS Design,” to generate an OS run-time image with KITL enabled, and download the image to the target device.
