SUMMARY

This chapter covered the key concepts for understanding how a target Compact 7 system is configured to interact with the operating system through the Board Support (BSP) components. These are the Bootloader, which gets the image into memory, the OAL, which is responsible for the hardware-kernel interface, the board drivers, and configuration files. The role of KITL for a development system was also covered.
