SUMMARY

Bootloader is one of the low-level components within an embedded system. When properly configured, you don’t notice its existence. When developing a new device without a working bootloader, developing a bootloader can be challenging.

The BIOSLoader is a stable bootloader for x86 devices with flexible configuration to launch a Compact 7 OS image from the local storage, with optional configuration to launch an Ethernet bootloader to download an image from a Platform Builder development station, or another alternative OS image from the local storage for testing and administrative purposes.
