SERIAL BOOTLOADER (SBOOT)

The Serial bootloader, Sboot, is designed to download a Compact 7 OS run-time image from the development station to the target device over a Serial port connection. The Sboot bootloader cannot function on its own. You need to use another bootloader to launch Sboot.

Because the data transfer speed over a serial connection is extremely slow compared to an Ethernet connection, the Sboot bootloader is not commonly used.
