Chapter 12

Remote Display Application

WHAT’S IN THIS CHAPTER?

  • Adding a remote display application to the OS design
  • Using the remote display application

The Remote Display application provided as part of Windows Embedded Compact 7 is a useful utility, which provides remote access to the Compact 7 desktop. For many application developers, this application can help eliminate the need to have a separate display monitor for the target device, by routing the device’s display, keyboard, and mouse interface to the desktop on the development station. It can even work with a headless Compact 7 device.

This chapter provides an overview of the Remote Display application and includes an exercise showing how to include this application in the OS run-time image and how to utilize this application.
