17.8. Summary

In this chapter, you learned how to manage the final stage of the software development lifecycle. You learned how to wrap up your projects and to work on an effective postmortem (to gain visibility on the issues and how to overcome them). You learned how to remove assets, a project, and even Team System from a server (and the challenges that removal may entail). We provided a roadmap for your completed projects if they are to end up as launching pads for a new development effort. Finally, we looked into the crystal ball to see what Team Foundation Server (and Team System) has in store for the future.

Overall, this book provided you from a pragmatic, cradle-to-grave view of how to set up and manage team projects. This book is meant to supplement the documentation provided by Microsoft and give you shortcuts on how to use the tools effectively. We would love to hear your feedback and experiences with the product. Feel free to contact us at support@stormpixel.com and mickey_gousset@hotmail.com.
