16.9. Summary

In this chapter, you learned the architecture of SQL Server Reporting Services as it relates to Team Foundation Server. Included in the overview was a glossary of terminology and concepts commonly used in OLAP reporting. Next, you learned how to generate custom reports using Microsoft Excel, Report Designer, and Report Builder. Not only did you get an overview of the steps to build a report but also hints and best practices to get the best performance and capabilities out of Team System reporting. You found out how to incorporate your custom reports within the team portal, manage the reports, and define and set security on a project and report level. Once your project is completed, historical data derived from reports will provide the data you need to implement process improvement. You'll learn more about that in the next chapter.
