Chapter 7. Project Creation and Team Building

You have Team Foundation Server up and running, so now you have to figure out how to use it. In the previous chapter, you learned about process models, and the two models that are shipping with Visual Studio Team System: MSF Agile and MSF CMMI. Process models are only part of the picture. To fully utilize Team Foundation Server, you need to use a Team Project. In fact, you really can't do much with Team Foundation Server until you have a Team Project.

In this chapter, you learn what a Team Project is, from both a conceptual and physical perspective. You'll then move on to learn how to create a Team Project, and some of the errors that can occur during project creation. You'll read about project areas and iterations, which are ways of organizing the information in your Project. Finally, you'll learn about your project team, and revisit the roles associated with the MSF Agile process model.
