7.4. Summary

In this chapter, we discussed a few important server parameters that you can tweak to potentially improve your database overall performance, such as CPU affinity, hyper-threading, parallel processing, memory settings, and some network advanced settings. Be careful when adjusting them because most of these parameters work best with their default settings. You only want to adjust them when performance analysis demonstrates that the changes result in performance improvements.
