Search capability, for so long the bane of the SharePoint developer, has been greatly enhanced in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. You are now able to crawl several different content sources, configure relevancy information and ratios and external business applications using the Business Data Catalog.
In this chapter, you discovered the Enterprise Search object model, learned how to customize the Search UI, and explored the Query object model. By utilizing these extensibility points, you can greatly customize Enterprise Search for your organization. In addition, you also learned to use the Search web service to pull query results back.
