Chapter 6. A Sample Collaboration Solution

Creating software for SharePoint that links individuals together to complete tasks makes up the majority of work for a SharePoint developer. The SharePoint system is created for collaboration and designed to allow others to add functionality for more collaboration.

This chapter shows you how to build a new collaboration solution using the extensibility features of SharePoint, and walks you through a sample project using the key extension models of SharePoint. Although the user or administrator can handle many scenarios by employing the customization features available through the browser interface, more complex situations require the services of a developer, who will use tools such as SharePoint Designer and Visual Studio.
