2.8. Resources

The most important Subversion resource is the book Version Control with Subversion, originally published by O'Reilly, and available online at http://svnbook.read-bean.com. The print book was published in 2004, and the online version is more current (a second edition of the print book should be out shortly).

François Beausoleil's blog post at http://blog.teksol.info/2006/03/09/subversion-primer-for-rails-projects was an important resource for me when I was learning about Subversion and Rails. It's in the comments to this post that David Heinemeier Hansson recommends versioning schema.rb.

There are a number of resources for managing Edge Rails. The official Rails wiki page on the subject is at http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/EdgeRails. The page is a little flaky though — it includes a link to an older version of itself, among other things. Another blog post on the subject is by Tim Lucas at www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2006/07/11/installing-and-managing-edge-rails.
