The following sections explore the details of how generic types are represented in IL as well as probe the internal representation of generic types. Though I don't view this material as being overly advanced, it can be daunting if you've never devoted any time to poking your way around in IL and basic CLR concepts. So, if you really want to maximize your understanding of the concepts that follow, you may want to first familiarize yourself with some of the fundamentals of the CLR and how code is transformed into IL at run-time.
