4.4. Summary

In this chapter, you learned how many of the components of a SharePoint site are represented in SharePoint Designer. You also learned that you can restrict access to certain SharePoint Designer functionality through the use of Contributor Settings and region types. Key points include:

  • Almost everything is manifest in a file/folder structure.

  • Galleries are special cases of lists and libraries.

  • Lists and libraries can be hidden from most elements of the web interface navigation.

In Part II, you look at how to pull it all together, edit pages, and customize your site's look and feel.
