Cell Dependencies

Thus far in this chapter, we have looked at Automation-based mechanisms for handling events. We will continue with this in a moment, but it is important to remember that many events can be handled on a SmartShape symbol-by-SmartShape symbol basis using cell dependencies. As you are aware, any cell in a Visio ShapeSheet can reference any other cell in a Visio ShapeSheet through formulas. These are the inter-cell references we spoke of in the earlier portions of the book. They create inter-cell relationships or cell dependencies.
