Visio SmartShapes Symbols that Never Scale

You may need to create symbols that always appear at the same printed size regardless of the scale of the diagram that they are instanced into. In order to accommodate this behavior, you can use any one of several different design tricks.

Firstly, you could design the symbol in a diagram where the user would almost never encounter the design scale. For example, you could design the symbol in a diagram with the scale set to 1:100,000. When the symbol was instanced into a diagram of a normal scale, the range-of-eight would take effect and the symbol would always be anti-scaled.
