Visio Documents and Layers

If any of you come from a Computer Assisted Design and Drafting (CADD) background, the concept of layers will be quite familiar to you. For the rest of you who might not know about layers, here's a brief history.

In the beginning, there was drafting. This was accomplished on single sheets of paper (well, actually papyrus or parchment, but that's a different story altogether). Drawings were painstakingly copied from one sheet of paper to another to create copies. This went on for centuries (quite literally).
