A camera report is a sheet or card providing data pertinent to a particular roll of exposed film. Two or three copies are made of each report.
There are three basic types of camera reports:
1. Clipboard-type or vertical format—This report hangs on a clipboard, which is to be placed below the camera dolly or tripod or may be taped to the back of the slate.
2. Magazine-type or horizontal format—This report is inserted in a holder on, or is taped to, the magazine take-up side.
3. Caption sheet (often called “dope sheet”)—This report is used for films with no script.
The data on a camera report is divided into three sections: (1) identity; (2) information; (3) inventory.
