Script Breakdown

Before a shoot can begin two main questions need to be answered. These are: how long will it take to produce the film and how much will the production cost? Or, in other words, what is the schedule and the budget? As has already been stated these two factors are inter-related and any change in one will have an effect on the other.

Therefore one of the first problems the producer or production manager has to solve is how to arrive at an estimate of the time needed to complete the production because, in turn, this information will provide part of the solution for the costing of the production.
