About the Authors
GARY P. PISANO is the Harry E. Figgie, Jr. Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, where he has been on the faculty since 1988. His research has focused on technology and operations strategy, outsourcing, R&D performance, the management of innovation, and competitive strategy. He is the author of over seventy-five research articles and case studies and the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2009 McKinsey Award for best article published in Harvard Business Review.
