24p Preproduction

Before producing a film, time is best spent planning, or as put by filmmaker Jean-Paul Bonjour, “Think before you shoot!”

Preproduction

A film is developed in four stages: preproduction, production, postproduction, and distribution. You plan in preproduction and shoot in production. You edit footage, color-correct, add titles, and create effects in postproduction. You get your film out to the world in distribution. This chapter covers the business, logistical, and creative planning required for a film to run smoothly.
