5.8. Prophetic Statements on Estimates and Metrics

All previous discussions in this chapter are supported by some direct statements that I have arrived at in practice. These are not logically derived statements but, instead, statements of my experience and that of some of my colleagues. Since they can go wrong, it is safer to call them prophetic statements. By considering these prophetic statements in UML-based projects you will arrive at one of two conclusions: (a) these statements are wrong, in which case you have arrived at the right estimates for your project, or (b) your estimates are wrong and can be improved upon.
