Relevance of Modeling CASE Tools
With the application of any tool, it is always worth remembering the age-old advice, “Tools are a means to an end.” The ideal starting tools for modeling (whether it is a house, a car, or a software solution) are still pencils and paper (and today, whiteboards and marker pens). Even if the project eventually changes from a small to a medium or a large project and requires more sophisticated CASE tools, from my point of view, the preferred starting point for any modeling exercise is still a whiteboard.
