Workflow Connections and Relationships

A workflow must not only show what is being done (i.e., the tasks), but also the sequence in which they are done (i.e., the directional connections between tasks). This chapter describes how to show relationships between tasks within a workflow and with other workflows.

9.1 Workflow Connections

Because process workflows consist of a sequence of activities or tasks, there are directional links to connect the items in a workflow. These connections are lines with unidirectional arrows, as shown in Figure 9.1.
