Template Stores and the ODS Path
Proc template saves templates into a file called a “template store.” This is just a SAS item store that holds templates. The format itself is not really important, but only proc template itself and ODS know how to read these files. Since every procedure graph, tabular output (excluding proc print, proc tabulate, and proc report), and style output by ODS uses a template, you can imagine that there are quite a few templates in SAS. Well, you don’t have to imagine any longer. If you type “odstemplates” into the run box of the SAS window, the Template Browser will open.
