Modifying SAS Procedure Tables
Almost all SAS procedures use templates to describe what their tabular output should look like. The only procedures that create tabular output but do not use templates are proc print, proc report, and proc tabulate. Now this does not mean that you have free reign to completely redefine the output of every procedure. There are some limitations. The procedure is still going to supply only the data columns and dynamic variables that it always would; however, anything you can do with table templates within that constraint is fair game.
The first thing to do when you want to override a procedure’s table is to figure out what the name of the template is. To do this, you first run the following code.
