Quick Tips

  • Whenever you have trouble figuring out what is going on in a complex table with percentages, take the time to expand the table definition and see what is happening.
  • Make your tables clearer by adding row or column totals with the ALL option.
  • To show a percentage and a mean that use the same variable, use PCTSUM instead of PCTN.
  • To create subtotals, add the ALL variable to the row dimension and use correctly placed parenthesis.
  • The simplest way to get page percentages is to use the PAGEPCTN statistic. The PAGEPCTN statistic prints the percentage of the value in a single table cell in relation to the total of the values on the page.
