E.5 TAYLOR SERIES

The Taylor series of function g(x) is a representation given by an infinite sum of derivatives at xo. The general formula is

(E.23) Numbered Display Equation

where g(n)(xo) is the nth ordinary derivative of g(x) evaluated at x = xo. The Maclaurin series is a special case of a Taylor series evaluated at xo = 0.
