Terminal Integration

Although there are graphical user interface (GUI) versions of Vim, the original software was designed primarily around running Vim from the terminal environment. You’ll typically find that when you become comfortable using Vim, your workflow naturally tends to shift toward working more and more within the terminal environment as well.
