Editing MIDI

Pro Tools does not have as many advanced MIDI editing features as Logic or Cubase. Nevertheless, all the basics are there, along with several neatly implemented features that make Pro Tools a joy to work with compared with some of its more complicated competitors.

Editing Basics

Pro Tools lets you edit MIDI data alphanumerically or graphically, according to your preference. You can use the standard Cut, Copy, Paste, and Clear commands to manipulate MIDI data, and Pro Tools also has ‘Special’ versions of these commands that provide extra functions for MIDI data.
