4. Playlists & Markers

This is going to be a fun and eye-opening chapter. We’re first going to learn how to create a back-up session. Then we’re going to delve into one of the coolest features in Pro Tools: playlists. Think of playlists as little sketchpads built inside each track.

Imagine an artist, with a sketchpad, drawing a tree. He fills up page 1, but is not quite happy with the drawing. He draws another tree on page 2. Nope, still not right. So, he continues this process until he’s happy with his work. He can also flip back and forth among the pages to study what he likes or doesn’t like about each drawing.
