Deep Zoom

Now that you've explored the fine details of Silverlight's audio and video support, it's time to branch out to a very different type of multimedia: Silverlight's new Deep Zoom feature.

The idea behind Deep Zoom is to present a “zoomable” interface for huge images. The typical Deep Zoom image is far too large to be shown on the screen at once at its native resolution. Initially, the Deep Zoom image is shown at a greatly reduced size, so that the user gets a bird's-eye view of the entire picture. The user can then click to zoom in on a specific spot.
