Customization Pitfalls

One common concern when working on SharePoint branding is properly understanding the concept of customized files. Previous versions of SharePoint commonly referred to this as ghosted, but this term has been replaced with customized in SharePoint 2010. When a page within SharePoint is accessed by an end user, SharePoint references the content database to see if that page is based on a page that resides on the file system and then presents this page to the user.
